The Water School and Ray of Hope

The Water School (TWS) is a Canadian incorporated non-profit organization with a mission to provide simple, safe, strategic, and sustainable clean water solutions to the developing world. TWS was founded in 2007 by Bob Dell, a water scientist, and Fraser Edwards, a businessman with decades of experience in partnering with indigenous leaders to implement lasting change. The Water School currently implements solar disinfection through its integrated teaching program of health and hygiene, called Ray of Hope.

Ray of Hope empowers schools and other existing community groups like hospitals to teach solar disinfection and provide relatively inexpensive and readily available materials to participating families. In this way, students and families are equipped with the knowledge and necessary materials to meet their own water needs. One $50 Ray of Hope will provide a family of six with safe, clean drinking water for years to come.
